Busting the Myth of White Genocide is a group of South African activists from all cultural backgrounds and walks of life. We recognise the dire need to address this myth, amidst a storm of right-wing propaganda and fear-mongering, that only serves to divide our country.

We expose racism, violent speech, fake news and propaganda in and around South Africa. Our mission is make South Africa peaceful and non-racial, by educating people about the realities of our country. It is vital for the world to understand the truth about what is happening in our country, because the propaganda being spread by the far-right could adversely affect many people.

WHY SOUTH AFRICA?

 

South Africa has recently become the focus of attention for this nonsensical conspiracy theory, often dog-whistled as "the persecuted ethnic minority" or "the plight of white farmers". While there is a high rate of violent crime in South Africa as whole, white farmers are no more affected than any other demographic. In fact, white people are arguably safer, because of the high walls, alarm systems, and private security afforded to them.
